Summer Time Swim is a recreational swimming challenge, participation in which is entirely at the risk of the individual participant concerned. We recommend that you always swim within your limits, that you allow enough time for rest in between each swim, that if you are swimming in open water that you do so with at least one other person at all times and that you hydrate before, during and after each swim. If you have any doubts about your ability to participate we recommend that you seek advice before doing so.

There is no fundraising requirement. The event is owned by a charity (Swimathon Foundation), and donations to the charity are welcome. However, for now we’re keen to see how many people we can inspire to Swim as much as you can in August

There is no need to change distance, as everyone is entered into the same single challenge. You simply decide whether you’re going to attempt the 12 hour, 24 hour or 36 hour challenge. We ask which one you are intending to do in registration (for insight purposes), but this does not mean you have to stick to that particular challenge.
-
As a free event to enter, there is no need to defer your place in the event if you cannot make the event for any reason.
-
You can take part in any recognised swimming venue (indoor or outdoor). The swimming venues must have lifeguards present. If you are taking part in open water, you must swim with another competent swimmer at all times and observe local rules and conditions at all times.
