How to Apply:
To apply for The Swimathon Foundation Training and Education Grant, please read this section as well as the application and course criteria before completing your application.
The Application Process:
Apply - Applications must be received before 31st December 2008
Decision - All successful applications will be notified by The Swimathon Foundation by 31st January 2009.
Book - You will then need to book and pay for your chosen course
Attend - Complete your course – good luck!
Review - Send us your course completion form and evaluation
One year after - We are really keen to see how your course has helped you support others in the sport of swimming
Who could benefit?
- Trainee lifeguards, swimming teachers and pool plant operators
- Swimming teachers renewing qualifications
- Swimming coaches upgrading qualifications
- Pool staff, supervisors and managers looking to gain vocational qualifications
- Operators of health clubs, leisure centre and swimming pools can apply for a company-wide grant
The grants are designed to support the training and development of leisure centre staff, management, swimming teachers, lifeguards, plant operators and volunteers in becoming more involved and qualified in the sport of swimming.
Who can apply?
Grant applications are available to pools that took part in Swimathon 2008 and open to the following:
Tier 1 Grants:
Up to £1,000 is available to the top ten Swimathon 2008 pools (based on swimmers recruited). For a list of these pools - Click here.
Tier 2 Grants:
Up to £500 is available to Swimathon 2008 pools positioned 11 – 40. Click here.
Tier 3 Grants:
A limited number grants (ten) of up to £500 are available to any other participating Swimathon 2008 pool. For a list of all Swimathon 2008 pools – Click here.
Tier 4 Operator Grant:
A single training and education grant of up to £5,000 will be awarded to one operator who participated in Swimathon 2008. For a list of all operators able to apply for this grant – Click here.
